Australia

In 1992, the GEO Group expanded into Australia and now operates several major prisons, remand and reception centres in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

South Africa

In July 1999, the Government of South Africa awarded The GEO Group a 25 year contract to design, construct, finance and manage the 3024 bed Kutam Sinthumule correctional centre. This was one of the first prisons to be privatised in Africa and the first to be awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification.

USA

The GEO Group delivers contracts to design, construct, finance and manage correctional facilities throughout the US. GEO is now one of the largest providers of correctional services to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Federal Bureau of Prisons, working in a number of states and counties throughout the United States. A GEO subsidiary, GEO Care Inc., manages the first state psychiatric hospital to be privatised in the United States.
